We will cover biochemistry, genetics, evolution, and ecology throughout the course of this year long class. Students will participate in class work that includes: note-taking, discussions, labs, projects, assessments, and assignments.
ID Badges: Students must have their ID badge visibly displayed during all classes.
Required Materials: (Everyday)

The binder will be divided into multiple sections. We will make our own dividers in class or students can bring their own.
Writing utensil
Grading: You are responsible for all material covered in class whether you are here or absent.
All grades will be based upon the following scale:
A= 100-90%B=89-80%C= 79-70%D=69-60%F=<60%
Grading will be weighted according to the following two categories:
Assessments(tests and quizzes): 60% Learning Tasks(homework, labs, projects): 40%
All assignments are due at the beginning of the period.
Late assignments will be accepted. They will be reduced 10% up to a week past the due date. Anything after a week will be reduced 20%. Late work will only be accepted during the current unit.
Students have the number of days they were absent to complete or make-up assignments.
It is your responsibility to get any missed work from the Absent Binder or Ms. Ingwaldson’s website.
Classroom Rules and Expectations: All policies outlined in the Senior High Student Handbook including:
Be on-time, on-task, and prepared to learn everyday.
Respect the teacher, the classroom, and other students.
Be engaged and responsible for your learning.
Food and drink are permitted except on lab days.
Keep all personal electronics put away; unless given permission.
Electronics are prohibited on test and quiz days. You will receive a zero on the assessment if it is out at any point during the period.
Students need to use the bathroom before class.
Discipline:I expect you to behave appropriately and safely at all times otherwise:
1st offense- warning
2nd offense- warning, parent contact
3rd offense- referral to Assistant Principal
Cheating: Cheating or plagiarism is taking credit for work or knowledge that is not yours. This includes copying homework, cheating on quizzes and tests, or working together on assignments without prior permission. Students caught cheating will receive an automatic zero grade and a conference with the Assistant Principal.
